Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SocialProof ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
SocialProof provides an embeddable widget that displays real-time social proof notifications (purchases, signups, reviews) on your website. The Service includes a dashboard for managing widgets, viewing analytics, and configuring notification settings.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One person or entity per account. Shared accounts are not permitted.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Display fake, misleading, or fabricated notifications (e.g., fake purchases that never happened).
- Use the Service on websites that promote illegal activity, hate speech, or fraud.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, plan limits, or security measures.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the widget.
- Resell access to the Service without written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Plans and Billing
- Free plan: 1 widget, 100 events per day, SocialProof branding displayed.
- Pro plan: 10 widgets, 10,000 events per day, no branding, analytics included. $9/month or $79/year.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. You can manage your subscription and payment methods at any time via the billing portal.
- Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied.
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
6. Data and Content
- You own the event data you send to SocialProof.
- You grant us a license to process and display that data as part of the Service.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to collect and display the data shown in your notifications (e.g., customer names).
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by third-party integrations (e.g., Shopify webhooks).
7. Shopify Integration
If you install SocialProof via the Shopify App Store:
- We access your store data (orders, customers) solely to display notifications.
- We inject a small script snippet into your active theme to render the widget.
- Uninstalling the app will stop all data collection and remove the widget from your theme.
- Our use of Shopify data complies with the Shopify App Store requirements.
8. Availability and Support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is." We are not liable for downtime, data loss, or any damages arising from use of the Service. For support, email support@socialproof.tech.
9. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless you request earlier deletion.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email.
